Kokian - Guest of Honor

Art Fair Dijon decides to honor contemporary art in all its forms.
The currents are very numerous and the influences multiple.
One of the trends that will be on display during this first edition is what is commonly called "Bad Painting".
It emerged in the United States in the 1970s. Coming from Graffiti cultures because it uses the same codes and techniques, it originated in the subcultures claiming Punk and Rock and was inspired by movements from American immigration. Artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat or Keith Harring are the main representatives.
It is therefore an immense privilege for us to receive an exceptional guest of honor also representing this KOKIAN movement.

French artist born in 1971, he is one of the heirs of the expressionist movement "Bad Painting".
After growing up in Burma and then in Morocco, he exercised his first talents in France, tagging the streets of Paris, and it was when he left for New York in 1995 that the style that would become his revealed to him. It is with colorful patterns of women, his “Kokianas”, flowers and winks to masters of painting such as Picasso, Matisse, Haring, Warhol, Van Gogh or even Vermeer that he performs exhibitions. in New York, Moscow and the Middle East in particular.
