Contemporary art collectors, Claudine and Jean Marc Salomon have decided to commit to today's creation by opening a space dedicated to its dissemination. The foundation, recognized as being of public utility by decree of April 11, 2001, is located in Annecy, in Haute-Savoie; its mission is to be a living place conducive to the meeting between creators, contemporary art lovers and as large an audience as possible.
The foundation opened its doors on June 27, 2001 at the Château d'Arenthon in Alex, a village located about fifteen kilometers from Annecy. During a period of twelve years the foundation exhibited in this place artists of international renown. In January 2014, she moved to La FabriC in the heart of the city of Annecy to develop new activities: exhibitions, meetings, conferences, artistic trips and raising awareness among young people of contemporary art.
In addition, through new transversal projects, the Salomon Foundation has redefined its orientations and its projects by developing other actions in favor of contemporary creation. This support is being developed along three lines: assistance for the residency of a French-speaking artist abroad, assistance for exhibitions and assistance for publishing.(crédit photo: Fondation Salomon)
